National College of Pharmacy, (NCP) Manassery organized a national level pharma seminar on ‘Emerging trends and perspectives in Pharmaceutical Sciences’ (on Dec 16, 2017).
Over 130 delegates from different parts of the country took part in the program. Dr. Anil Babu A, Vice Principal- NCP, welcomed the gathering. Dr. K. G. Rajendran, Former Vice President -USV Pharma, inaugurated the program at NCP seminar hall. Dr M K Unnikrishnan - Principal- National College of Pharmacy- presided over the event.
The seminar saw expert sessions also. Well-known national faculty and scientist led the sessions. Dr. Santhiagu. A, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology- NITC spoke on “Gene Therapy.” A talk on “Cell division proteins: Attractive targets for anticancer chemotherapy”, was delivered by Dr. Rathinasamy, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology –NITC.
A session on “Relevance of Molecular Docking in Drug Design” was led by Dr. Bijo Mathew, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry-Ahalia School of Pharmacy, Palakkad. Dr. Girinath G. Pillai, CEO- Zastra Innovations, Bengaluru, spoke on “ADME & Toxicity in Drug Discovery: Experimental and Predictive Methods”.
A speech on “Regulatory Compliance and Indian pharma Market” was delivered by Dr. Unnikrishnan. M. K, Principal - National College of Pharmacy, Calicut.
The sessions were followed by lunch. The program was concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Akash Marathakam, HoD- National College of Pharmacy.
